In one week we are filming a teaser for Trailer Park Princess. It's going to be great to be behind the camera again. I am excited to be back on set with my crew and I'm really looking forward to work with the lead in Trailer Park Princess Jillian Geurts. I can't wait for August when I get to work with the entire cast.
We have also been busy casting the rest of the film and putting together the shooting schedule. There is so much to do during pre-production and I absolutely love it. Putting together the looks for each character is one of my favorite things to do. Every detail is vital. It is important that each character is distinguishable and unique. I am also enjoying the production design aspect of pre-production. Building the world that will be the setting for Trailer Park Princess is exhilarating. I want the sets to be truly immersive for the audience. When you're a true micro budget independent film it is crucial to get the most bang for your buck when it comes to wardrobe and production design. Those are two areas you can really control what you spend. Antique stores, thrift stores, flea markets, and even yard sales are valuable resources. Being able to bargain and negotiate price really helps when managing the budget. I have had quite a bit of luck on Etsy when it comes to finding the right wardrobe for my characters look. You have to hunt a little harder for a good bargain but they can be had if you're diligent. In the next couple of weeks we will be posting some behind the scenes videos from our pre-production work as well as the teaser shoot. I will also be recording a Q&A where I will be answering some of the questions that I am asked the most. I will end with the obligatory plug for our store. We have some great items available and every dime goes towards the film. This film is going to happen. I hope you will take this ride with me. Thanks for reading and keep coming back for more updates.

I put this reel together to showcase my work and to use as a presentation tool to potential investors and backers.
Most of you probably aren't familiar with my work and that might be one of the reasons you are hesitant to invest in my film. Hope you enjoy the reel. Thanks for watching. I was recently asked what costs were associated with making a film. I have created a pie chart that shows how the $50,000 budget will be spent. The majority of the budget goes towards our cast and crew. These expenditures include their salaries, lodging, and food. Luckily we already own the majority of the equipment we need to film the movie properly. We are also very fortunate in the fact that we have locked up the majority of our locations at little to no cost.
Every dime we raise goes towards the making of Trailer Park Princess. I hope you will consider purchasing one of the items in our store or even pre-ordering Trailer Park Princess. By request we have added a PayPal button in our store so you can donate money directly to the film without purchasing a product. Your money goes a long way to putting creative and talented people to work. On this level of independent film making it's rare you have a production that is willing to pay cast and crew in accordance to SAG low budget scale. We believe people should be compensated for their talent and time. We cut costs in other ways but never at the expense of our cast and crew. As I stated in my last blog if we fail to reach our funding goal we will refund the money for the $30 package as well as the $10 pre-order. Thank you for your time and your support. It's been nearly a month since we launched our online store. We did this in hopes of raising of the remaining budget for Trailer Park Princess. It hasn't gone nearly as well as we had hoped but I am determined to make this film. I think one of the issues may be there isn't any guarantee the film will get made so people are hesitant to pre-order the film or purchase one of the packages.
If we don't raise the money needed we will refund the money to those who pre-ordered the movie or bought a package. This is an all or nothing proposition. I realize that wasn't made clear when we launched our store. Hopefully this will ease some of the hesitation and reluctance to support the film. I am only as good as my word. I would not risk my future or my career by screwing people out of their money. If we do not reach our goal by July we will refund your money. This refund is only for the pre-order of Trailer Park Princess and the $30 package. Everything else that is purchased on our site are tangible goods and will be sent out. I asked myself before we decided to offer up the movie for pre-sale if I thought it was possible to find 3,000 people to pre-order the film? It's a tall order, I realize that. But 3,000 people that's 60 people per state. If I personally visited each state could I find 60 people to invest $10 in my film? I think I could. Unfortunately I don't have the means to go on a cross country tour and visit each state. So, I must rely on the power of the internet and social media to get my message across. So far, less than a month in I have been able to find 10 people to take that chance. 2,990 to go. If any one has any questions or concerns I am easy to get in touch with and I will be more than happy to answer your concerns. On to what I've been up to. We have been busy preparing for a teaser trailer we are shooting March 25th. I am very excited about the concept for the trailer and plan on using this as an investment/marketing tool for Trailer Park Princess. I have also been working on my personal sizzle reel. I think it's important to show potential investors and customers what I am capable of achieving. I have also been busy casting the remaining roles. There was a great response to my latest casting call and the level of talent available is astonishing. I can't wait to work these talented actors. I hope you decide that this film and myself are worth the $10 investment. I promise you, if we reach our goal you will be proud that you did.
